Team manager Thomas Tuchel has moved into the final of the English soccer league cup with Chelsea.
The Blues prevailed in the semi-final second leg thanks to a goal from national player Antonio Rüdiger 1-0 (1-0) at last year’s finalist Tottenham Hotspur. The Champions League winner won the first leg 2-0.
On February 27, Chelsea will face Liverpool FC or Arsenal FC in the final.
Rüdiger was already there with his head after a corner in the 18th minute. Timo Werner was replaced by Tuchel in the 66th minute, Kai Havertz was on the bench. Chelsea are back in the final for the first time since 2015. Shortly before the end, the game was interrupted for a few minutes due to a medical emergency in the spectator stands.
On Thursday (8:45 p.m. / DAZN) team manager Jürgen Klopp will play the first leg against Arsenal with Liverpool. The game was originally scheduled for January 6, but the encounter was postponed due to numerous corona cases at the Reds. The decisive second leg will take place on January 20th.
