TPS Vice-Captain Ruben Rafkin’s season ended with a shoulder injury. It was born a couple of weeks ago in a match against Sport in Vaasa.
– The shoulder is in such a condition that it would not have been good this season. That’s why I decided to fix it now. I’m going to have surgery soon, Rafkin tells Iltalehte.
Rafkin has played 39 regular season matches this season.
– It’s sad, of course. The reality shows start, and I have to watch them from the sidelines. I can’t help the team. It’s sad, but this is bullshit, the 21-year-old player continues.
The man from Turku, who has represented Finland twice in the Under-20 World Championships, is able to train despite the injury.
– I have rehabilitated my shoulder and trained my lower body. Fortunately, you don’t have to be completely still. It wouldn’t even suit my character.
TPS getting confirmations?
There are several injuries in the TPS team. In addition Valtteri Pulli plays this weekend with the Lions in the EHT tournament and is out of strength.
At the beginning of the week, new faces joined the ranks of TPS Taneli Ronkainen and Olli Vanttaja.
Even more acquisitions may still be coming to the ranks of Turku before the Liiga’s transfer deadline, i.e. February 15.
– If a suitable player is found, we are ready to take it. It can be a kit or a striker, says the player coordinator of TPS, a former top player Tomi Kallio.
– There aren’t an awful lot of players on the market, Kallio reminds.
