Ruben Nicolai once again attracts more viewers than GTST: ‘Time for cake!’

It is becoming a tradition: when GTST goes on summer break, RTL 4 will immediately see its viewing figures pick up at eight o’clock in the evening. And that is thanks to Ruben Nicolai and his quiz.

Where Good Times Bad Times only serves soap fans, everyone can linger for a while at the Ruben Nicolai quiz I Know Er Alles Van. And that means that Ruben often performs better than GTST in the high season with his annual GTST replacement in the middle of the summer, i.e. in the low season. That was also the case yesterday.

The season opener of Ik Weet Er Alles Van VIPS was able to entertain 824 thousand viewers, accounting for a market share of 20 percent. For comparison: GTST scored 716 thousand viewers and 16 percent market share at the same time last Monday. RTL 4 is on the rise at eight o’clock.

Viewing figures expert Tina Nijkamp hands out compliments to Ruben. She speaks of a ‘beautiful score’ and also points to its high market share in the commercial target group 20 to 54 year olds, namely 27 percent. “That is comparable to the score of De Slimste Mens in that target group,” she writes on Instagram.

Viewing figure monster De Slimste Mens started the new season with 1.7 million viewers (33 percent). This puts the NPO 2 quiz proudly at the top of the top 25 viewing figure. “That’s promising for the next six weeks. It will be a wonderful summer for NPO 2, that is already clear,” says Tina.

The most watched alternative was offered by sister channel NPO 1. MAX Vakantieman scored 941 thousand viewers (18 percent) and De Avondetappe had 846 thousand viewers (19 percent).

B&B Full of Love on #3

RTL 4 takes bronze on prime time with 679 thousand viewers (14 percent) for the kick-off of B&B Vol Liefde. An excellent start, says Tina, although the market share in the commercial target group is much lower than that of the Ruben Nicolai quiz, namely almost 16 percent. “Still a lot of trouble from De Slimste, I think, but also from Peter Gillis.”

The talk show Renze scored cautiously on the late evening of RTL 4 with 614 thousand viewers (16 percent). The market share in the commercial target group is around 15 percent. “Fewer than Humberto scored in recent weeks,” said Tina.

SBS 6 attracted 621 thousand viewers (13 percent) with Family Gillis.

Programs that did not make the top 15 include Hart van Nederland (602 thousand), EenVandaag (554 thousand), Shownieuws (518 thousand), 112 Today (414 thousand) and Shownieuws Zomereitie (242 thousand).
