Treant’s hospitals and residential care centers have opened all doors for RTV Drenthe reporter Marjolein Lauret and cameraman Ronald Pras in recent months.
For the documentary series Operation Care Heart they entered the emergency room, the dementia department, operating rooms and rehabilitation centers where the seriously ill recover. “All doors opened,” Lauret emphasizes. “We interviewed various healthcare employees. But we were also allowed to film everything, so that we could see their work and the passion for the profession.”
The central question in the series is: what ensures that care employees, despite a high workload, are always there? “‘It is our care heart’, we kept hearing.” And so ‘Operation Zorghart’ was born.
With the 8-part series, Lauret and Pras try to pay tribute to the work of healthcare workers. Each time she walks into a different section of Treant, where she speaks with the people who stand with their feet in the mud every day.
“There is emotion in all stories”, she has experienced. “These people are at the bedside because they choose the profession with their heart. Because of the way they practice their profession, they try to make a difference in the lives of residents, clients and patients every day. they also put a lot aside.”
