“We think Drenthe is of paramount importance,” says Martin van der Veen of RTV Drenthe. “We already make radio for a wide audience, mainly with music from the sixties to the eighties. This online radio station is a welcome addition for listeners who specifically enjoy listening to Drenthe music and culture. We are pleased that we can cooperation with the RPO.”

In 2021, the Media Authority and the Council for Culture issued a positive advice. According to the Council, Radio Drèents contributes to strengthening the regional identity and also fits within the public media mission of RTV Drenthe.

RTV Drenthe has also received permission for Bluesradio Drenthe, which is expected to be launched this autumn.
