Formula 1 starts the 2024 season this weekend. Motorsport fans can watch seven races on RTL on free TV. t-online explains what these are.

The RTL reporter team will also be there again. It is the first of seven races that the Cologne private broadcaster will broadcast on free-to-air television this season.
In addition to the opening race in Sakhir, RTL also reports on the race weekends in Budapest (July 21), Spa-Francorchamps (July 28), Zandvoort (August 25), Monza (September 1), Baku (September 15) and Las Vegas (November 24).

RTL is sending its well-known team to the races for its Formula 1 comeback. Florian König, Heiko Wasser, ex-pilot Christian Danner and Kai Ebel are back in action. Laura Papendick will replace König in moderation a few times, the broadcaster announced. Wasser and Danner comment. Ebel is back in the pit lane as a reporter. Pay TV broadcaster Sky has had the exclusive rights for the premier class of motorsport since 2021 and is showing all 24 Grand Prixes again this season. For the corresponding package, fans have to pay around 20 euros per month in the first year in order to be able to follow all races.
RTL did not broadcast any races in the previous season, having previously shown four World Championship races per season for two years. RTL has again bought a sub-license from Sky for the seven races.
