This will please many football fans…

RTL has secured the broadcasting rights to the Europa League and Conference League for another three years until 2027!

As before, a game will run on one of the RTL Group’s free TV stations, i.e. on RTL or Nitro. The other games will then be shown on the streaming portal RTL+.

Stephan Schmitter, Chief Content Officer RTL Germany, explains: “Only with us can fans experience top-class European football for free on free TV and, thanks to the new game mode, more games than ever before. That means sharing the excitement, cheering for everyone and hopefully as many magical moments as possible, such as Eintracht Frankfurt’s historic title win, which attracted more people to watch TV last season than the Champions League final.”

9.05 million viewers saw Eintracht triumph in the final against Glasgow Rangers.

The Europa League has been running on RTL on free TV since 2018. In 2021, the Cologne broadcaster secured the sole rights and outperformed DAZN.

So now the certainty: until 2027 there will continue to be one live game per European Cup week on free TV.
