The new musical TV show Tulips from Antwerp is already on television in Flanders, but the broadcast on RTL 4 is still awaited. A big downer for presenter Buddy Vedder.
Together with a Flemish lady, Buddy Vedder presents the new musical program Tulips from Antwerp, in which Flemish and Dutch artists sing songs from the other’s country. The program has already started in Flanders, but here we only know the show from the riot about the Marco Borsato ban.
Unbroadcastable?
It is strange that RTL 4 is taking so long, says former SBS boss Tina Nijkamp. “What I find strange: RTL 4 does not yet have a start date for Buddy Vedder’s program, while it has already premiered in Belgium. Very strange, because it is a competition program and so the winning songs will soon be known before it is broadcast here.”
Tina speaks to her analysis channel of a ‘mega spoiler’. “What is the reason that RTL 4 does not broadcast it? Are they dissatisfied? Do they find it unbroadcast?”
In any case, the program is not very original. The eternal Samantha Steenwijk is already present in the first episode.
Reassembly
What exactly is going on? Tina comes with an update a little later. “Get several DM messages that RTL does not (yet) think the program is good enough to broadcast. RTL wants a re-editing according to these reports. That could indeed be the logical reason why it is not yet in the broadcast schedules.”
She continues: “But of course the mega spoiler remains, via social media and the like. Super bad luck for Buddy Vedder: this is his first big show as a presenter after Holland’s Got Talent.”
