RTL 4 will also stick to the soap series Goede Tijden Bad Tijden next TV season. The linear viewer numbers have decreased sharply, but TV boss Peter van der Vorst is still satisfied.
Good Times Bad Times was once one of the big monster hits of Dutch television, with at its peak sometimes more than 2 million viewers per evening. Performance of size
Despite everything, RTL’s TV boss Peter van der Vorst is still satisfied with GTST and he is keeping the soap series on RTL 4. “The makers of GTST have put in an impressive performance. The average market share in our target group has increased by almost 20 percent in the past three years,” he explains in a press release.
GTST is still a success, he says. Last week, on average, 728 thousand people watched linearly, so at the broadcasting moment itself. “Almost every day the series is in the top ten of most watched programs. Including delayed viewing and the streams on Videoland, each episode is seen by more than 1.1 million people.”
Close to the viewer
Peter thinks that GTST’s new course to be more real is a great success. “The course we set out three years ago is working well. By adding new characters and relevant storylines, the series is once again closer to the viewer.”
He concludes: “Last season, the cast and crew managed to surprise, make them laugh and move their audience again. And that for 32 years! We can’t wait for the 33rd season to start.”
Season finale
The final week of the 32nd season of Good Times, Bad Times is approaching. The traditional summer cliffhanger can be seen on RTL 4 on Thursday 7 July this year. “Videoland subscribers can enjoy the seasonal climax a week earlier.”
The 33rd season of GTST will start on Monday 29 August on RTL 4 and a week earlier on Videoland.
