Royal Mint issues coin to commemorate 100 years of BBC | Abroad

The 50 pence coin features a globe with broadcast waves and the BBC motto: Inform, Educate, Entertain on one side.

On the back is a portrait of Queen Elizabeth, who died on September 8. That’s because the coins had already been minted before the queen died, reports the British news agency PA. To avoid additional costs and protect the environment, no new units were produced. The coin can be ordered on the website of the Royal Mint for 11 pounds (more than 12.5 euros).
