A day with victories for the North Holland teams in the second division. AFC won big against Noordwijk, Jong Volendam defeated Kozak Boys. Koninklijke HFC took three points on a visit to the leader.

The match between Koninklijke HFC and Katwijk was not only between the leader and the Haarlem team. Both trainers, Gertjan Tamerus and Anthony Correia, know each other well through their shared period as assistants at Telstar.
In the end, an own goal by Horinees Paul Kok made the decision. In the six-minute stoppage time, Katwijk had a few more chances, but HFC held out. After the win, HFC is in joint second place with AFC and HHC. Next weekend, the team of Tamerus will play at home against the team from Amsterdam.

Attacker Leon Maloney scored Jong Volendam’s first goal after fifteen minutes. That was a boost for him, because the Briton had suffered from injuries for a long time. A few minutes later, Jay Koorndijk ensured that an attack by the visitors was nipped in the bud. Jim Beers doubled the Volendam team’s lead five minutes after the break. In the end, Koen Blommestijn made the decision: 3-0
The victory puts the Volendam team in fourteenth place. Jong Volendam will play against Rijnsburgse Boys next week in Rijnsburg.
AFC – Noordwijk 4-1

Actually, AFC was done with Noordwijk within half an hour. Quick goals from Joel Tillema and Raily Ignacio made it 2-0 after ten minutes. Splinter de Mooij and Ignacio provided the comfortable 4-0 margin. In the final phase, Toer Bouwman scored another goal for the statistics, but the victory was no longer in danger.
AFC has risen to a tie for second place with HFC and HHC due to the win. The team from Amsterdam is above these clubs, because they have played one game less. Next week, AFC will visit competitor HFC.
