Roy Donders is being criticized for illegally putting fillers

The Healthcare and Youth Inspectorate has warned three cosmetic clinics in Brabant, including that of reality star Roy Donders from Tilburg. The reason is previous reporting from Omroep Brabant. These are places where fillers are placed or this is taught to others, while the clinic does not have the correct paperwork for this.

In November, Omroep Brabant revealed that about twenty cosmetic clinics in our province do not have their affairs in order. Three of them put fillers without having a BIG registration as a doctor. That’s illegal. There were also clinics where the practitioners had a BIG registration but had not completed training as a cosmetic doctor. This was reason to worry for the professional association.

Others also in sight
More than two months after the publications, the inspectorate announced that it was going after the clinics. Three of them have received a letter from the inspectorate. The letter explains the rules again. The other clinics also have the attention of the inspectorate, and they may be contacted at a later date.

The three clinics involved are:

  • Roy Donders Clinic Donders in Tilburg,
  • Clinic Lanette also in Tilburg
  • Clinic De Skinspecialisten in Valkenswaard.

The last two provide courses to third parties on how to apply fillers, while they are not authorized to do so themselves. It is not clear whether any further action will be taken by the inspectorate after the letter.

Closed on Thursdays
Since the publications, the Kliniek Donders website has been closed. Roy Donders himself stated that he would like to continue putting fillers. He considers himself competent because he has been doing it for years without complaints.

Both Kliniek Lanette in Tilburg and De Huidspecialisten in Valkenswaard have now adjusted their websites. A BIG registration is now sometimes mandatory for students. It is not clear who exactly gives the courses at these clinics and whether they are authorized.
