For example, Roxeanne said that “the biggest blow” came when Rachel wrote a book after the death of her father. “Then I didn’t have my mother with me for nine months. Just when you need her so much to mourn.” Roxeanne says she had a ‘huge blow’ because her mother would have abandoned her. “You damage someone with that for the rest of their life. I am a grown woman, but I find it difficult to sleep alone.”
Rachel does not recognize herself in her daughter’s story at all. She writes on Instagram: “Today I informed the media that I was surprised to learn of Roxeanne’s statements. It is also special that this has never been reported directly to me or to others in our/my immediate environment, while I assumed that everything could be discussed within our family.”
Rachel adds: “I find it incomprehensible that I now hear this indirectly through a program. Fortunately, I know that I am supported by people who still know how it is, as witnessed by the many sweet reactions I have received from everyone.”
Response André
Roxeanne’s brother André, who has mainly remained in the background since his burnout, also responds to their mother’s message. “Mom, it is with a heavy heart and vicarious shame that I have had to read these messages about you from abroad. I sincerely hope you will not be fooled by the statements of someone who is trying to minimize you in every possible way.”
“You took care of us and fought like a lioness when we were little and as one of your two children I can’t relate at all to the claims made about you.”
André then concludes with: “I am grateful for what you have managed to make out of our messy childhood and the achievement you have done in making me who I am today. And you get eternal respect from me for that.”
