Roxeanne Hazes has to appear in court on October 19 to testify in a case that her mother Rachel Hazes has brought against two former business partners.
The lawsuit concerns the way in which Rachel Hazes’ interests were represented through a power of attorney during her nervous breakdown in 2016. The judge has ruled that Rachel Hazes may call three witnesses, including daughter Roxeanne, about the payment of an invoice of 24,000 euros for a coaching program. Mother and daughter have had no contact for several years.
Whether daughter Roxeanne will actually appear in court remains to be seen. Earlier, the 29-year-old singer indicated that she does not intend to.
“If I were to be heard as a witness in this case, it would discredit my mother because what I will testify will only further damage my mother’s reputation,” Roxeanne said in early June. “I don’t do that. Legally speaking, this is called nondisclosure. I will therefore invoke that.”
