Roxeanne Hazes will probably never get rid of it: in every interview she is asked about her brother André Jr. and her denounced mother Rachel. “She falls silent.”
As much is written about few families as about the Hazesjes. Mother Rachel in particular is notorious, but André Jr. also keeps people busy. There is less consternation about Roxeanne’s private life; she is quite serious about her music and never gets involved in all kinds of riots, like the rest of her family.
Roxeanne remains silent
Roxeanne would prefer not to give rise to those kinds of riots and that is why she finds it difficult to speak to the media about this. How does she manage that now that she is promoting her new album? “She watches her words ‘quite often’ and swallows away what she actually wants to say,” can be read in an interview by Rox with the NRC.
The newspaper continues: “She wants to distance herself from that negativity. ‘Besides, everything I say about it causes a reaction from the opposing party.’ Our agreement is not to discuss the substance of the lawsuits.”
‘She falls silent’
It A.D does make an attempt to ask Rox about her family situation: “Roxeanne Hazes is an easy talker, but when family issues come up, she falls silent for a moment.”
Rox himself says: “This is difficult. I am a very open person by nature, but I don’t want to talk about this. Because one: everything you pay attention to grows, and two: everything I say leads to a counter-reaction. Let’s just say that despite everything, I’m doing well at the moment.”
Lice mother
Actually, Rox doesn’t want to get bogged down in some kind of showbiz fight at all. “I just want to be a mother. I really like schoolyard life. Just in my sweatpants, having a nice chat.”
She concludes: “Of course they know who I am, but in a village everyone knows each other anyway. That has nothing to do with my fame as a singer.”
