Aegir 1 to 9 or Nereus 1 and 2 are again more recognizable as a rowing club. The difference is whether it is a corporal, such as Aegir, or a non-corporal association, explains Sybren van der Meulen. At Gyas he is responsible for the competition rowers and also for the Heineken Silver Gyas Meerkamp 2022. ,,At corporate associations a ranking is used and for non-corporal associations it may be a self-invented name”, explains the Gyas director. Perhaps the names of the teams are humorous, the rowing is serious. ,,They are freshmen and seniors and train at least four times a week”, says Van der Meulen.
