The Dutch skaters will compete in the last three stages of the 1000 meters at the Olympic Games on Friday. The last individual distance of the tournament starts at 9.30 am Dutch time.
Thomas Krol is the first on the ice in Beijing, in stage thirteen against the Norwegian Havard Lorentzen. Hein Otterspeer rides a ride later against the Chinese Zhongyan Ning. Reigning world champion Kai Verbij will compete in the final stage against the world champion in the 500 meters, the Canadian Laurent Dubreuil.
There are fifteen rides in total, with a mopping break in between. The three Dutch skaters are among the favorites in the 1000 meters. Together with title holder Kjeld Nuis, who failed to qualify, they divided all podium places in the three World Cup competitions in which they started.
