BURBANK (dpa-AFX) – Entertainment giant Walt Disney has rejected reports of a possible sale of the ABC Group and its associated TV channels to Nexstar. “Any report in this regard is unfounded,” the company said on Thursday in Burbank. However, Disney was open to considering a variety of strategic options for the linear business areas. At this point in time, no decision has been made regarding the sale of ABC or other properties, it said.
The Bloomberg news agency had previously reported, citing a person in the know, that Disney had held exploratory talks about selling the ABC Group and its TV channels to Nexstar. The discussions are preliminary and do not yet include a specific assessment, it said. A spokeswoman for Nexstar declined to comment to Bloomberg./jha/
