Discover Alkmaar while sniffing
Anyone who wants to explore the beautiful city center of Alkmaar can do so with a dog from Saturday. The city launches the project’Alkmaar Splendid dog‘: this allows visitors to borrow dogs to shuffle through the historic center, the dunes or the polders with a four-legged friend.
You get the dog for free for a part of the day, just like a nice walking route and poop bags. Because walking with a dog also includes less fun things.
Formula 1 circuit Zandvoort introduces roundabouts
A roundabout on a Formula 1 circuit may sound a bit crazy, but Circuit Zandvoort dares to do it. It will be the first F1 circuit in the world to feature a number of these roundabouts.
According to engineering company Prommenz, who developed the roundabouts, there are a few good reasons to introduce the roundabouts to the circuit. “A roundabout ensures that drivers have to slow down. This ensures a reduction of 8% CO₂ emissions per lap.”
“In addition, a roundabout ensures that you have to give each other priority. A safer solution than trying to overtake each other just before the bend. Finally, a roundabout brings many new strategic advantages. Now you have to overtake each other in completely different ways This makes racing even more interesting to watch.”

New shirt sponsor Ajax
Big news from the Amsterdam Museum: as of April 1 (how coincidentally), the city museum will be Ajax’s news shirt sponsor. The so-called ‘cultural outfit’ contains the museum logo and is designed in the house style of the museum with the colors red, magenta, oxblood red, black and white. With the shirts, Ajax and the museum want to “fulfill the joint desire to conquer the world, with football and with culture”, they write. their website.
Maurice Seleky, head of Communication & Marketing at the Amsterdam Museum, is pleased with the new collaboration. Utrecht annexes ‘t Gooi
Great news from ‘t Gooi: there are said to be advanced talks to add the region to the province of Utrecht. That’s it in a letter from the Gooi en Vechtstreek region. The provincial reclassification could take place as early as 1 January 2025. This fulfills a long-cherished wish of the region, as can be read in the letter. The region would always have felt more connected to Utrecht than North Holland.
The letter states that a press conference will be held this Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Burgerzaal of the Hilversum town hall. There, the six mayors of the municipalities involved will provide explanations.

Donkey milk cheese

New staff at Customs?
