Alexander Zverev missed the quarterfinals of the ATP tournament in Paris-Bercy.
In the round of 16, Zverev failed against Stefanos Tsitsipas. The Greek won the match 7:6 (7:2), 6:4. Zverev still has a good chance of taking part in the ATP Finals in Turin (November 13th to 20th). After the victory, Tsitsipas has secured the starting place for Turin. Zverev’s record against Tsitsipas remains weak: four wins compared to nine defeats.
In the first set, the world number nine from Hamburg repeatedly had problems with his forehand, Tsitsipas played more consistently and secured passage after 1:11 hours. Zverev got off to a bad start in the second round, the Hamburg player immediately conceded the break and fell behind. After 1:58 minutes, Tsitsipas used his third match point to win.
Altmaier in action in the evening
Daniel Altmaier is also still in demand in Paris on Thursday evening and could provide Zverev with valuable help with a win against Boris Becker’s protégé Holger Rune on the way to Turin.
