Rottweiler, believed to belong to Red Devil Jason Denayer, attacks childminder and two toddlers: “Without the help of bystanders, those children might not be around…” | Ternat

TernatIn Ternat, a rottweiler attacked a childminder and two of her children on Tuesday. According to mayor Michel Vanderhasselt (CD&V), it is the dog of Red Devil Jason Denayer, but that is formally denied by his agent Jesse De Preter. The dog has since received a fatal injection.

It is not clear how the dog escaped. The animal soon caught sight of a foster mother near a meadow near Ploterstraat and Watermolenstraat, who was out with two children of about 2 years old. The rottweiler attacked and injured both the foster mother and one of the children. Fortunately, witnesses were able to intervene in time and pull the dog away.

Fortunately, the victims were not very well and went to the doctor for care. The dog was looked after for a while, as his owner could not be contacted. But because there was no room in nearby shelters, a lethal injection was administered on the orders of the mayor.

“We will also enter into discussions with Jason Denayer,” said Mayor Vanderhasselt. “In the neighborhood where he lives, there are often problems with stray dogs. Besides, if the witnesses had not intervened in time with this incident, it would have been much worse. I even fear that those children would no longer have been there.”

It is not yet clear whether there will also be a complaint against the Red Devil — who will now play at Shabab Al Ahli in Dubai. In the meantime, Jesse De Preter, Denayer’s agent, took note of the mayor’s claims with increasing astonishment. “That dog is not Jason’s, Jason’s mother, not his dad’s and not his brother’s,” it sounds formal. “He also did not live in his mother’s house, nor in any of the houses of his other relatives mentioned. Jason is happy that all is well with the children involved.”
