Roskomnadzor announced the condition under which YouTube is not threatened with restrictions

RKN said that YouTube will not face restrictions in fulfilling the requirements of Moscow

YouTube video hosting will not be threatened by additional measures from Roskomnadzor in the event that the service complies with the requirements of Russian law, reports TASS with reference to the press service of Roskomnadzor (RKN).

“The application of new measures directly depends on the administration of the video hosting. If YouTube complies with the requirements of the legislation of the Russian Federation (it starts removing illegal content and moderates extremist and anti-Russian appeals, removes restrictions from Russian channels), then there will be no grounds for applying additional measures against the resource, ”the message says.

YouTube is ignoring the agency’s demands to remove more than 10,000 prohibited materials, which, among other things, contain calls for “unlawful actions against citizens and military personnel” of Russia and are distributed by extremist organizations “Right Sector” banned in Russia and Regiment “Azov”.

In March, YouTube blocked several Russian media channels that it believes are state-funded. In addition, YouTube blocked the channels of the State Television and Radio Fund, but then removed the restrictions from them.
