Soldiers of the special forces of the Russian Guard during the “operation to liberate” the city of Izyum in the Kharkiv region captured several “leaders of national formations and accomplices of the SBU”, informs agency in its VKontakte group.
According to the agency, at night, during the crossing of the Northern Donets River on the outskirts of Izyum, the Russian Guards “took the brunt of the militants on themselves”, which made it possible to “perform the most difficult task and at the same time save the lives of soldiers and officers.”
“During the battle, they (Russian guardsmen. — RBC) were able to expand the bridgehead, and also captured several leaders of nationalist formations and accomplices of the SBU, seized important documents, ”the message says.
For their actions, 40 National Guardsmen were presented with a state award.
