Rosemary oil, the beauty remedy for thick and strong hair

gNatural oils are good for the hair: nourishing, softening, polishing. There are not only argan, jojoba or coconut. To discover, or rediscover, there is also therosemary oil, powerful hair strengthener. Less known among haircare allies, it has stimulating and reinforcing properties for much stronger stems. This is why it is ideal during the change of season.

Rosemary oil, “grandmother’s secret” for thicker and stronger hair

The properties of rosemary oil have been known since the ancient Egyptians. Obtained by steam distillation of the leaves and twigs, it has properties that help stimulate hair growth: for this reason it is particularly suitable for hair that tends to break and become brittle.

But it also has other virtues: it is antioxidant, antibacterial, antiviral, astringent and dermo-purifying, characteristics that make it suitable for hair with a more impure and heavy tendency.

But how does rosemary oil work? First of all it nourishes and invigorates the hair bulb, reinforcing and stimulating the growth of more resistant, elastic and vigorous stems. For this reason, as also pointed out National Library of Medicine in 2015, rosemary oil is a suitable natural ingredient to combat alopecia.

Three ways to use rosemary oil

1. On wet hair, diluted

First of all, experts recommend not using it pure because it may be too aggressive. For this it would go diluted with other oils, such as those of jojoba, almond or coconut, to sweeten it. The mix must then be massaged on wet skin for about five minutes once or twice a week so as to awaken the microcirculation. Then, leave it on for 15 minutes and finally wash your hair.

2. Infused into shampoo and conditioner

Rosemary oil can also be added to shampoo and conditioner2-3 drops are enough. Alternatively, you can choose products that already contain it naturally in the formulations, usually specific for thin, fragile, lifeless hair.

3. As a compress for about 30 minutes

Finally, rosemary oil is also particularly suitable for a pre-shampoo wrap. In this case you need maximum 5 drops to be diluted in a spoonful of jojoba oil or sweet almond oil. It is massaged on the dry scalp so as to stimulate circulation, and left on for about 30 minutes. Then rinse it off using a good shampoo to remove all traces of oil.

Not just rosemary oil: all the other allies for the hair

However, there is not only rosemary oil. In general, in fact, essential oils contain active ingredients that are perfect for the hair. For its soothing and nourishing properties, almond oil is suitable for dry hair and sensitive skin, as well as being an excellent remedy in case of split ends. Applied to the scalp and lengths, it helps the hair regain its lost shape.

Coconut oil is also good for dryness: mvery dense and fatty, it is the most suitable if you need to restructure from the inside. It is usually used for a compress that must be left on for about an hour.

If instead the problem is frizz there is argan oil, nourishing and regulating. Linseed oil it is a panacea in case of split ends but above all if the skin is irritated, even in the presence of dandruff.

In the case of unbalanced skin, theneem oil, a natural remedy for oily scalp and dermatitis. If you finally search brightness then there is sesame oilan excellent tonic against overused, dyed and brittle hair.
