What sounds like a cooking show on Arte from the band name is actually a dream pop/folk project by the Dutch duo Anne van den Hoogen and Dolf Smolenaers, which has existed since 2014. On the second album, van den Hoogen now comes to the fore. The man remains as co-producer.
Gentle chamber music
“Sometimes in life you’re in a place where everything feels peaceful,” she says of the song “Summer.” It’s about “losing track of time”. The piano ripples, the guitar quietly makes its way. Feel-good folk with the singing of a friendly flower jacket wearer. “Alfie” isn’t a Burt Bacharach interpretation, but it’s equally artful. “Murmur Of The Sea” is the name of another song. Gentle chamber music.
