The activity on Thursday 12 was loaded with symbolism. The Supreme Court came out of courthouse to be present in Rosario and give a sign of support to judges and prosecutors who are constantly threatened by drug gangs. But that sign of unity is not so firm if you look at it with a magnifying glass: inside, the highest court has a crack that seems irrecoverable between Horacio Rosatti and Ricardo Lorenzetti.
The ministers from Santa Fe are in their sights. That is why, while Rosatti accumulates power behind the doors of the highest court, lorenzetti looking for become strong abroad, with public appearances and conversations with different social actors. Politics is not indifferent to them: the first, Kirchnerism made a march to kick him out; to the second, Elisa Carrio insists on cornering him with a political trial. They, without escaping courtly formalism, defend themselves.

Due to the crisis of drug violence that Rosario is experiencing, at some point there was speculation that the Court would arrive in that city in armored cars. He was the only courtier on the opposite sidewalk.

The president of the Court does not usually give interviews, however he reconsidered it in recent weeks after Lorenzetti made their differences public about the Council of the Judiciary: “If the others speak…”, he warned his team in allusion to his co-provincial. Then he backed off. He preferred media silence and a low profile, again.

The course of events put the Court in the sights of politics. And the parties also chose their side. Kirchnerism targeted Rosatti: at the beginning of May referring to the front of all they marched to ask for the impeachment of the President of the Court, the main enemy. “He intends to take Council of the Judiciary the same as Macri appointed by finger, that he voted for himself to preside over the Court and that he issued the ruling that put him at the head of the body that appoints and removes judges”, none other than the Minister of Justice, Martín Soria, had pointed out (see box ).
