Jealous of Kirchner’s privacy, Alberto Fernandezthen all-powerful chief of staff, protested because Horace Rosati, Minister of Justice who had arrived there on Cristina’s advice, had direct contact with the president. Those who shared offices with them say that Fernández leaked information to the related media to put the man from Santa Fe on the ropes. A source goes a little further: “Both are lawyers, but the President always had a ‘curricular envy’.”
Two decades later they met again at the head of two of the powers of the State. And again there were disagreements: the last one, the brake that the Court put on the elections in San Juan and Tucumán and that provoked the anger of the Government. Alberto Fernández and Rosatti were, once again, in the center of the ring.

NEWS: Do you feel harassed by the government?
Horace Rosati: We are part of a Judicial Power that knows itself to be independent; a firm Judiciary, which is what society demands, what our community demands in the context of the republican form of government and the division of powers.

But Rosatti would add a new chapter to the battle. In his lecture at the AmCham Forum, he launched a strong critique of monetary policy. In the Government they considered it an “interference” and sent him to study Economics. Court sources say that it’s not the first time that the judge, in his capacity as professor of Constitutional Law, speaks of the magna carta, where reference is made to the defense of the value of the currency. “I had already said this last year at the Idea colloquium”, they say. And they chicaned the vice: “It is unusual that people who were constitutional in ’94 are surprised.”
