Hertzberger takes the place that has been released by passing NSC MP Danielle Jansen to the cabinet. She has become outgoing Minister of Health.
Return Hertzberger in room striking
The return of Hertzberger is striking. She left in November with big words after the cabinet almost fell into the aftermath of the Jewish hunt in Amsterdam after the Ajax – Maccabi Tel Aviv football match. In the aftermath of this, NSC-State Secretary Nora Achahbar (surcharges) left the cabinet because of the ‘polarizing manners’ in The Hague. NSC people brought into the world that racist language had been drawn in the Council of Ministers, Achabar himself firmly denied that.
For Hertzberger it was a reason anyway, together with NSC MP Femke Zeedijk, to also grab her bags. According to Hertzberger, ‘all brakes were loose’ and ‘completely inappropriate statements’ were made. The accusing finger mainly went to the PVV, then still coalition partner of NSC. Afterwards, Hertzberger also no longer made use of the chance to take another released seat. In an interview with NRC, she said she had been struggling for some time with the collaboration with the PVV and actually had the hope that the entire group would follow its example and step out of the coalition.
That didn’t happen. But now that the cabinet has fallen and PVV has left the coalition, Hertzberger apparently no longer sees a problem to return to The Hague. Recently she was active for the NSC scientific office.
