Rosa Peral will be released from prison to testify about whether she hid assets so as not to compensate Pedro’s family

Next January 24 Rose Pear, Convicted of the crime of the Urban Police, she will appear before the Court of Instruction number 5 of Tarragona accused of a crime of concealment of assets. Specifically, she is denounced by the family of the victim, Pedro R., for transferring assets, such as her house or her car, to her father before the conviction. The court is investigating whether she did it to allegedly avoid paying the compensation of 885,000 euros that she and Albert López, the other convicted person, must pay to Pedro’s relatives.

Rosa Peral will be released from prison to testify as a defendant. The court denied that she did so from prison, as her defense requested. Along with them, her father will also testify as accused. The transfer would have occurred a week before the Barcelona Court’s sentencing of the two former urban guards, according to La Vanguardia. Peral is sentenced to 25 years in prison for murder and López to 20 years.

In addition to the prison sentence, the Barcelona Court established that the victim’s family must be compensated for the moral damages caused by his death. If they could not pay the 885,000 euros, they were urged to seize her properties, which Rosa Peral allegedly tried to avoid by transferring her assets and declaring herself insolvent. On January 24, she will offer her version, according to her defense sources.
