After the death of Ronaldo’s son, the world footballer will miss the game in Liverpool. The club stand behind the pro and send a message of love and support.
Cristiano Ronaldo will miss Manchester United in the clash with Liverpool on Tuesday (9 p.m. in the live ticker on t-online). The club also confirms this. “Family is more important than anything and Ronaldo is supporting his loved ones at this immensely difficult time,” the club wrote on its official website.
Ronaldo and his partner Georgina Rodriguez wrote in a moving message on Monday: “It is with the greatest sadness that we have to announce that our boy has passed away. This is the greatest pain a parent can feel.”
The couple announced in October that they were expecting twins. While a girl was born safe, her twin brother died at or shortly after birth. “We are devastated by this loss,” Ronaldo and his partner continued: “Only the birth of our girl gives us the strength to feel some hope and joy in this moment.”
Ronaldo is the father of five children. He has 11-year-old son Cristiano Jr. and four-year-old twins Eva and Mateo from a surrogate. In addition to the girl who has just been born, there is the four-year-old daughter Alana Martina together with Rodriguez.
