Cocking with André
How did this one-on-one conversation come about? At the initiative of the folk singer himself, Ronald explains Show news. “I have a little contact with him every now and then and he and his record company said: ‘We would like to have a good conversation sometime.’”
Colleague Evert Santegoeds false: “And then they call you?”
Ronald: “Yes. Then we arranged the Ahoy with Shownieuws, because it will be there on November 25. I thought it was absolutely crazy. I think we chatted for an hour and a half. It was very beautiful.”
‘Thank goodness!’
No news emerged from the conversation with André, but Ronald himself is extremely satisfied with his own work. “It was a very impressive conversation.”
André is also great, he thinks. “I am often accused of defending artists. Thank f*cking god, I would say, because someone has to do it, because artists are just not normal people. If we wanted to see normal people, you should just go to your accountant’s concert. This is absolutely crazy.”
Shelter house
Angela de Jong goes into her AD column really crazy about this uncomfortable scene in Shownieuws. “Shownieuws is the shelter for stars and starlets who are being vomited out by the rest of the Netherlands and Ronald even more so. He rolls out the red carpet without criticism.”
It was one slime session, Angela thinks. “What a great guy André is, how fantastic his new music was and how he – Ronald – hoped that things would work out between brother and sister. Many more fragments of this beautiful conversation will be shown on Shownieuws in the coming days.”
‘So sad’
Angela is really not looking forward to this. “When I had finally finished laughing, I wondered who is more pathetic: the young singer who milks his addiction to the last drop, like his mother does with the death of his father. Or Ronald Molendijk who is as happy as a child with an interview that no one really wants.”
Oh, oh, oh. Who needs the Comedy Central Roast when you can just give Angela a pen?
