Ronald Molendijk says he is wanted to death because he defended his good friend Glennis Grace at the desk of Shownieuws. “People say, ‘Think about the victims!’”
The success of celebrities is even more dependent on the gun factor than on talent. Due to her serious misconduct in the Jumbo, many people no longer feel like Glennis Grace, no matter how well she can imitate Whitney Houston. That all her performances are canceled is a logical consequence of that.
Death Wishes
However, her good friend Ronald Molendijk thinks that concert organizers should stick to Glennis, even though the public is no longer waiting for her. Last week, for example, he puked on Fred van Leer in Shownieuws, who removed the singer from the line-up of his event in Ahoy.
That jumping in the breach for Glennis has caused Ronald, in his own words, a lot of trouble. “We had a discussion here this week about the fact that she was no longer allowed to participate with Fred van Leer. I got quite a bit of feedback from that, from people who then wish me dead and say, ‘Think about those victims!’”
Valid point
The alleged victims of Glennis’ fight in the Jumbo are said to be very young. It is indeed good to think about that, Ronald has now realized. “I think that in itself is also a very valid point,” he says. But: “If we communicate normally with each other, that would be very nice.”
He continues: “At the same time, I also got a lot of people who send a message and say: ‘Hey, finally someone who stands up for Glennis.’ They often extend this a bit more broadly, namely to the cancel culture. It remains a very difficult thing, because Glennis has apologized for it, but is not allowed to elaborate on it because of the lawsuit.”
pounded together
Ronald is now thinking a little more nuanced about Fred’s decision to remove Glennis from the line-up. “I can also imagine that there are people… I got a message from: ‘It would be your child getting beaten up there.’ Then I think: yes, shit, that is also a valid point…”
But what exactly are the Ladies of Soul going to do? “The people behind Fred van Leer’s show are the same people who do the Ladies of Soul show. I can only imagine that the ladies on stage there also something ehh… Maybe a busy schedule. I have no idea.”
