A changing of the guard is coming at Telstar. Trainer Mike Snoei prefers Ronald Koeman Jr. on Monday evening. under the bar against Jong FC Utrecht. The goalkeeper returns to the White Lions after months of injury (wrist).
This is at the expense of Joey Houweling, who replaced him in recent months. “He is ready again. Ronald had to recuperate from a broken wrist from the match onwards. We gave him playing time again in the practice match against AFC.”
Koeman’s return is a hard blow for Houweling. Snoei is pleased with his reserve goalkeeper. “Joey has moved closer to Ronald and is still young for a goalkeeper. Last season Ronald had a good year and that is why he is the first goalkeeper again.”

Koeman’s return is offset by the absence of Thomas Oude Kotte. “He was fit enough to participate, but is not present due to family circumstances. That is very sad. This match is still too early for Tom Overtoom, but he can play against FC Groningen. It is sad that we still have a large group “We have boys who will no longer play before the winter break. This includes Christos Giousis, Youssef El KachatI, Yael Liesdek, Jay Kruiver and Robin Polley.”
Cancellation
The away match against Jong Utrecht will be played on grass and that is why Snoei is concerned about a possible cancellation. “At Telstar, the artificial grass was almost unplayable. They are now also predicting snow, which will make it really exciting. Let’s hope it continues.”
Snoei is aiming for a victory in Utrecht, but knows that it will not be easy. “They recently won against De Graafschap (2-0). If you let them play football, it will be difficult. We have to build on the away win against FC Den Bosch. Zakaria Eddahchouri has been in good form in recent weeks and I will stick to that stuck.”
The Telstar match will be live from Utrecht and can be followed in an extra broadcast of NH Sport on NH Radio. The broadcast starts at 7 p.m.
