A bad clash between two players overshadowed the league match between Barcelona and Celta Vigo. After a header attempt, Ronald Araujo collapses, after a minute’s interruption he is transported away.
Uruguay’s Ronald Araujo collapsed on the field during the match between FC Barcelona and Celta Vigo. After a long break in treatment, he was taken from the field by ambulance. Previously, Araujo and a teammate from FC Barcelona had collided with their heads.
The incident happened after about an hour. After the collision, Araujo ran a few more meters before collapsing motionless. Meanwhile, his club have said he has suffered a concussion and is undergoing further tests in hospital.
23-year-old Araujo has been with FC Barcelona for four years. Teammate Gavi, with whom he collided in the incident, continued play after the break in treatment.
