,,There was a first half and there was a second half”, said the coach. ,,In the first half we conceded a very early goal and we were overrun and bluffed in the duels. We lost most of the balls and it seemed like the pace was too high. But you see, European experience: we just didn’t dare play football. We got away pretty well in the first half with a 2-0 score.”
After the break things went better at FC Twente. ,,In the second half we converted something and we urged the players on: dare, have guts and take initiative. And certainly after the 2-1 I think the 2-2 was in the air before the 3-1 for Fiorentina. I hope the first half has been a very good lesson for us and the second half should give us a lot of confidence to receive Fiorentina in the hell of Enschede next week, because we are ready.”
