Rome, Vina, Ibanez, Dybala: here is the gang of the mate

Put a Uruguayan, a Brazilian and an Argentine. All three South Americans, all three nationals (one freshly appointed) and, above all, all three Romanists. Someone, on social media, has already renamed Matias Vina (the Uruguayan), Roger Ibanez (the Brazilian) and Paulo Dybala (the Argentine) as “the gang of the mate” and why the most famous of them revealed last night three: “Vina prepares a very good mate and often Roger, I and I drink it together”. If Tammy is his favorite partner on the pitch, the three outside are inseparable because, even with their respective companions, they form a very close-knit group.

La Joya, in Rome, does not yet have a home, but begins to settle in the city a lot thanks to the advice of the two South Americans. Perhaps the fact that they were all born in the same month helps them: November 9 is Vina’s birthday, Paulo’s birthday on the 15th, and the defender’s 23rd. And if, Ibanez himself, is used to playing with Paulo (7 appearances each), Vina made her debut this season only in yesterday’s recovery, in Empoli. Someone, always on social media, joked: “Wonderful, we pay Vina to keep Dybala company”, but the reality is that the one who last year was a starter for most of the season, is now closed on the left by Spinazzola and Zalewski .

In the last days of the transfer market his transfer to Galatasaray did not materialize, but this did not mean that Vina represented, or represents, a problem for the locker room. On the contrary: he always trains well, he is a guy who makes up a group, who never says a word out of place and if he is also a friend of Dybala so much the better. The Argentine dedicated to him the splendid goal with which he brought Roma ahead in Empoli, mimicking the gesture of that mate they love so much and that, according to him, Vina prepares like few others in the world. Even this, given how Paulo began his Roma experience, perhaps he can be a precious ally: seven appearances, of which six in the league, the number 21 took part in five goals (out of eight) in the first six Serie A games. Only in 2017/18 he had done better, 10 in that case, but to be at the beginning not only of a new football adventure, but of a new life, that’s not bad.
