Rome shocked by gruesome murder: teenager’s body discovered in shopping cart | Abroad

A gruesome find, Wednesday afternoon in a suburb of Rome. A shopping cart containing the body of a 17-year-old girl wrapped in garbage bags was parked next to a row of dumpsters.

For three hundred and fifty meters, the main suspect in the gruesome murder, a 17-year-old boy from the same neighborhood, pushed the dead body through the streets of Primavalle, a working-class neighborhood in the northwest of Rome. The intention was to dump the body in a dumpster, but when that failed, the suspect left the shopping cart behind.

Black plastic bags

An observant passerby called the police. He found the body of 17-year-old Michelle Causo in the black plastic bags in the cart. The teen turned out to have been stabbed to death.

A trail of blood on the sidewalk led back to the home of the 17-year-old man where he lives with his mother. The house is currently being examined by the police for traces. The man was arrested and interrogated all night at the police station. Earlier reports that the man was the victim’s friend and Michelle Causo would be pregnant by him are contradicted by the police. The two had no relationship, according to a police spokesperson.

Motive

What exactly happened is still unclear. The police are investigating how the two knew each other and whether other people may have been involved in her death, the police are also still in the dark about the motive.

The neighborhood, meanwhile, is shocked by the murder. She was a quiet and nice girl, say classmates from the nearby lyceum. Other local residents can hardly believe the news and consider leaving the neighborhood.
