Mourinho already in Trigoria at 7.45, absent the players returning from their commitments with the national teams, first friendly on 15 July with Boreale behind closed doors
– ROME
The third season of the Mourinho era has officially begun. In fact, this morning the players and technical staff of Roma met in Trigoria for the meeting scheduled by the Special One. And it is certainly no coincidence that one of the first to arrive at Fulvio Bernardini was the Portuguese coach at 7.45, preceded only by Andrea Belotti who entered the technical center ten minutes before his coach. Also present were Diego Llorente, Ola Solbakken, Nicola Zalewski (he gave up some days off), Chris Smalling, Nemanja Matic, Mile Svilar, Rick Karsdorp, Stephan El Shaarawy, Pietro Boer, Gianluca Mancini and Paulo Dybala. Among the most acclaimed by the fans outside the Giallorossi headquarters there is naturally the Argentine champion – last night he reassured the square about his stay in the capital – in addition to the new reinforcement Houssem Aouar, ready to experience his first real day as a footballer of Rome.
plan

During the first day of the rally, the players will undergo a series of physical and athletic tests, alternating between the pitch and the gym. In the next few days, however, the actual preparation will begin. The intention of Mourinho and his staff is to develop targeted work aimed at starting the championship in a brilliant way, better managing the physiological declines that could occur during the current season and trying to reduce injuries. The studied formula should focus more on agility and less on strength, increasing turnover and work with the ball and significantly reducing loads in the gym. The first friendly – behind closed doors – is instead scheduled for Saturday 15 July in the Giallorossi technical center against Boreale, a Roman team that plays in Eccellenza (the same one where Bove started taking his first steps on a soccer field) . The first tests visible to the public should take place in Portugal, during the retreat scheduled for the last week of July (yet to be formalised).
Nationals
—
The players returning from their respective national teams will be absent: Lorenzo Pellegrini, Bryan Cristante, Rui Patricio, Zeki Celik, Edoardo Bove, Evan Ndicka and Leonardo Spinazzola will join the rest of the group in a week’s time. Also absent is the group made up of redundancies Eldor Shomurodov, Matias Viña and Bryan Reynolds.
