Ukraine’s neighbor Romania wants to buy the latest generation of US F-35 fighter jets to bolster its air defenses, the country’s Supreme Defense Council (CSAT) said in a statement today. The country has increased defense spending this year from 2 percent to 2.5 percent of gross domestic product in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
