The Argentine opens with a penalty, the equalizer is from Zapata. In the second half two pearls from Joya put the Giallorossi -2 behind Atalanta and -4 behind Bologna. Huijsen’s own goal in the final
– Rome
Dybala’s magic and Juric’s game. In the end the former win, because creativity in football often makes the difference. But Torino has something to regret about a game they led for a long time, especially in the first half (when the total number of shots was 9-3 for the Granata). Then, however, the light came on that in the Giallorossi home responds to the name of Paulo Dybala, author of the hat-trick that gives Roma a victory (3-2) that smacks of the Champions League. For Torino, however, high-level performances from Vlasic and Bellanova and the anger of not having succeeded when it was necessary to do so.
draw and draw
—
De Rossi decides to mirror himself and dusts off the three-man defence, with Smalling returning to the starting line-up 178 days after the last time and Lukaku going to the bench, giving space to Azmoun. Juric, on the other hand, confirms Vlasic’s talent behind Zapata and Sanabria and plays the usual man-to-man game. So much so that the game is played much more in Roma’s half of the field than in Toro’s, because the Granata attack from below and cause difficulties for the Giallorossi’s initial build-up. The pairings are fixed: Zapata-Mancini, Sanabria-Smalling, Vlasic-Ndicka, Gineitis-Cristante and Ricci-Paredes. So, in order to find escape routes, Roma relied on the creativity of Dybala, who initiated the action in which the Giallorossi came close to taking the lead: a quick restart by Azmoun and a post by Kristensen (who certainly could have done better). Then, however, the score returns the same, with Vlasic drawing the game and Torino cornering Roma. Except that Zapata often finds himself out of position, sometimes even in midfield, without being able to fill the penalty area. And when he does, he forces Mancini into a super recovery. Then it’s Ricci who comes close to scoring with a nice technical gesture, inspired by the usual Bellanova, a plunger on the wing. When everything suggests that we are going to rest like this, the match heats up. First due to a naivety by Sazonov (foul on Azmoun and penalty converted by Dybala) and then by an imperial header by Zapata, following yet another play by Bellanova (but there is also room for a shot from outside by Vlasic, on which Svilar saves himself as best he can).
Super joy

At the start of the second half Torino immediately became dangerous with Lazaro (Svilar did well in the corner), but then he lost his bearings and seemed less fluid in his maneuvers compared to the first 45′. On the other hand, however, Roma seem unable to recover until Dybala’s creativity comes to life, and in 12 minutes he brings the game home on his own: first with a magical turn from twenty meters and then with a diagonal following the one-two with Lukaku (who recently entered). A double blow that would kill anyone, but not the Bull. Who gets back there and tries to reopen the match first with Vlasic and then with Okereke (well done Svilar), then succeeding at the last minute with Ricci (Huijsen’s touch was decisive). The last thrill is a deep ball for Zapata, who is unable to control it in the penalty area. It ends like this, with Roma rejoicing and Turin regretting.
