Rolling Stones in Munich: photos, set list, videos

The Rolling Stones, their fans and the organizers could breathe a sigh of relief. In the end, the weather worked out — even if you had to tremble before the show in the afternoon. At 2 p.m., a few hours before the concert in Munich’s Olympic Stadium, the organizers announced that admission would have to be postponed by one hour. The reason: severe weather warnings. But the weather held – and so the Rolling Stones were able to enter the stage at 8:45 p.m. as announced.

The British rock legends performed nineteen songs. Jagger & Co. opened the evening with “Street Fighting Man”, followed by “19th Nervous Breakdown” and “Rocks Off”. As usual, fans were allowed to vote for a slot – this time the classic “Ruby Tuesday” from 1967 won the race. There was also a more recent piece called “Living In A Ghost Town”. The Stones finished their set with “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” — before returning to the stage for an encore of “Gimme Shelter” and the obligatory “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction.”

The band itself shared some video and photo impressions of the evening shortly after the concert:

As this fan video shows, images of Stones drummer Charlie Watts, who died in 2021, were shown on the video screens before the concert. As usual, Steve Jordan took Watts’ place on drums. After his illness, Watts had chosen Jordan himself as his (interim) successor.
