Rolling Stones announce box set of 1963-1966 singles

To mark their 60th anniversary, The Rolling Stones have announced the upcoming release of a box set containing all of their single releases from 1963-1966. The collection is scheduled for release on June 10th and will be released by ABKCO Records.

Box set includes rare photos, maps and a poster

The limited box set will consist of reproductions of the Rolling Stones’ first vinyl singles and extended play records. All tracks are said to have been re-mastered by 12-time Grammy award winner Bob Ludwig. In addition to a 32-page book with detailed notes by Stones expert Nigel Williamson, the collector’s edition also includes all sorts of extras: rare photos, ephemera, five photo cards and a poster. All components are supplied in a hard shell box.

The Rolling Stones Singles series will continue next year with a compilation of works from the years 1966 to 1971.

Recently released live album “El Mocambo 1977”.

Also released today (May 13) is “El Mocambo 1977,” a previously unreleased 23-track live album from a “secret” gig in front of 300 people in Toronto. The album is available digitally, as well as on CD and vinyl. But that’s not all: In June, the live album “Licked Live in NYC” will also be released, which will contain four unreleased tracks.

BBC dedicates a documentary series to the Rolling Stones

The band itself is celebrating its 60th anniversary with a major European tour. But outsiders also want to pay tribute to the Rolling Stones: In June, Lego will be releasing a Rolling Stones kit that can be used to recreate the band’s logo. “BBC” is planning a large-scale documentary series. Exclusive interviews and previously unavailable footage from Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts will be shown in one-hour episodes.

Rolling Stone frontman Mick Jagger recently released his solo single “Strange Game” for the Apple series Slow Horses. Meanwhile, bandmate Keith Richards gave numerous interviews, including the impact of Charlie Watts’ death, his quitting smoking and why the Stones aren’t selling their music catalogue.
