Stereolab come to Germany, presented by ROLLING STONE. Tim Gane (guitar, keyboards) and Lætitia Sadier (vocals, keyboards, guitar) form the core of the avant-garde pop band, which was founded in London in 1990 .
Post-rock pioneers
Stereolab are among the most original and authoritative bands of the ’90s. Their music moves between krautrock, lounge and pop music. The sound is defined by motoric beat riffs, the use of vintage electronic keyboards and French and English vocals. With other influences such as funk, jazz and Brazilian music, they shaped the post-rock genre.
In terms of content, the band moves between surrealism and philosophy – but the group does not shy away from contemporary and political topics either.
Since their inception, they have released nine studio albums. Most recently, “Electrically Possessed (Switched On Volume 4)” (2021) was released. Stereolab went on hiatus in 2009, but the band has been active again since 2019.
Stereolab will play five shows in Germany in mid-November: from November 14th in Munich, Leipzig, Berlin, Hamburg and Düsseldorf.
