Róisín Murphy presents “CooCool” as the first song on a new label

Irish avant-garde electro musician Róisín Murphy’s first solo single since 2021 was released today (Thursday, March 9). CooCool is also her first release on a new label, she is now signed to Ninja Tune.

Between 1993 and 2003, Murphy was the lead singer of the electronic duo Moloko, which she formed with producer Mark Brydon; Moloko split, as did the Murphy/Brydon couple. Immediately afterwards, the musician’s solo career began, during which she has released five albums, most recently RÓISÍN MACHINE, which was released in 2020.

“CooCool” has sprung from the usual mix of genres between soul, disco, pop, and electro that also influenced Murphy’s last works. She goes on tour between May and August, in Germany she can be seen on the 1o. June at the “MELT” festival in Gräfenhainichen.
