The Irish singer has this to say about her upcoming collaboration with Hamburg-based Koze: “We worked remotely, in different countries, sending tracks and ideas back and forth for several years. I always approach a new collaboration with an open mind and a willingness to learn, and that has never been more important than with this one.” Due to the physical distance between the two artists, Murphy was able to approach the record with a special intimacy. “I told this album my secrets,” she says. DJ Koze also benefited from independence. “He went deep into himself, and I think that’s why the music is so vibrant and alive,” adds Murphy.

The single “The Universe” follows the single “CooCool”, which was released in March. The current record of the 49-year-old RÓISÍN MACHINE was released in 2021.

Róisín Murphy also has some concerts planned as part of the album announcement: she will play a headline show in New York City on September 27th and in Los Angeles on September 29th. She is also part of the line-up for the Portola Festival in San Francisco. On June 8th, the former Moloko singer will also perform at the MELT Festival in Gräfenhainichen.
