Roger Waters has shared a first look at his reboot of The Dark Side Of The Moon. The beginning of the new version of the song “Us And Them” can be heard in a short clip on YouTube. The Pink Floyd album celebrated its 50th anniversary on March 1st. When Waters will publish his new interpretation is still unclear.

“When we recorded the cut songs for the lockdown sessions, the 50th anniversary of ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ was still a blur on the horizon. It seemed to me that ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ could be a suitable candidate for a balanced post-production, to pay tribute to the original, but also to re-address the political and emotional message of the whole album,” writes Rogers under the neckline.

The 79-year-old has come under increasing criticism for his “political messages”. His concert in the Festhalle in Frankfurt aM is about to be canceled, and other cities are also discussing whether his performances can take place or not. The reason for this was Roger’s support of the BDS campaign, which was classified as anti-Semitic by several governments and parliaments – including Germany – and the relativization of the Holocaust. His statements can be interpreted as anti-Semitic, and he works with anti-Semitic symbolism, such as the depiction of a Star of David on a pig. In February of this year he also spoke before the UN General Assembly about the Russian-Ukrainian war and criticized the role of Biden and NATO – for which he received strong opposition.
