Roger Daltrey sees The Who chapter as over

There are currently no new music or tour dates for The Who – and it could stay that way. In an interview, singer Roger Daltrey revealed that he was quite happy with it and didn’t want to change anything about the situation for now.

“I’m glad that part of my life is over”

In an interview with the “Times“ Daltrey revealed his current thoughts on the band’s status. Regarding new songs and possible future plans with his colleague Pete Townshend, he explained: “I don’t write the songs. I never did that. We need to sit down and have a meeting, but for now I’m glad that part of my life is over.”

However, this news doesn’t come as too much of a surprise, as Townshend also made similar statements in 2023. In a conversation with “Record CollectorHe announced: “I think it’s time for Roger and I to go to lunch and talk about what happens next. Because [der letzte Tourstopp im Sommer] shouldn’t feel like the end of anything, but it feels like the end of an era.”

The Who live in London in March

However, they won’t be disappearing from the stage completely, as The Who will be appearing as part of Daltrey’s cancer charity shows in London in March. Noel Gallagher, Paul Weller, Robert Plant and Eddie Vedder will also perform at the three events. Tickets are here available.
