Central defender Agustin Rogel (24) would have been available on a free transfer from January 1, but Hertha manager Fredi Bobic (50) needs him immediately.

For this he pays a transfer fee of around 700,000 euros to Estudiantes de La Plata.

Rogel made his last appearance for the Argentinian club on Sunday in the home game against Atlético Patronato (1-0), after which Estudiantes tweeted goodbye: “Thank you for your commitment, Agustin. Good luck on the next challenge!”

The Uruguayan is now flying directly to Berlin, where he is urgently needed. With Linus Gechter (18/almond surgery) and Filip Uremovic (25/bruising in the knee), Hertha are missing two central defenders.

Marc Kempf and Marton Dardai (20) recently played against Dortmund. There was no longer a central defender on the bench.
