Roeselare distributes digital pluviometers all over the city

The rain gauges were made by first-years of the Broederschool: they will soon simply place their gauge in the garden. For them, this is a nice technique assignment, the third-year students will soon be able to work with the figures in their lessons. The parts of the pluviometers are 3D printed, the software comes from a Roeselare company. (continue reading below the photo)

For example, third-year students can use the figures to learn how to make graphs or interpret figures. But the city will also look at and analyze those figures. Matthijs Samyn, alderman of ICT / Smart City Roeselare: “We can then get an overview of the situation per location, with the time periods, and from there we may be able to do things in the future in the context of flooding to use this in policy decisions.”
