It concerns an area of approximately 30 hectares that is now used for agriculture, close to the municipal border with Echt-Susteren. Roerdalen wants to investigate whether windmills can be built there, possibly combined with other ways of generating sustainable energy. The Wvg gives the municipality the time to consider in peace what the consequences are for the environment and how local residents can be included in the process.
